1. Scope and definitions
This Policy applies to the website at minirun.dev (the “Website”) and to data handling performed by the current official Minirun application (the “App”). “Minirun,” “we,” and “us” refer to the operator of the Website and maintainer of the official Minirun distribution. The operator is the controller of technical Website request data and is identified through the maintainer profile linked in Section 11.
It does not govern third-party websites, model repositories, or services reached through Minirun. Those services publish their own privacy terms.
2. Information processed by the Website
The Website does not currently offer user accounts, advertising profiles, payment forms, mailing-list forms, or a hosted inference service. We do not receive your App prompts, generated responses, conversation history, local model files, or selected storage paths through normal Website use.
Website infrastructure may process technical request data required to deliver and protect the service. This can include an IP address, date and time, requested URL, response status, browser and device headers, referring page, and security or abuse-prevention signals.
3. Information processed by the App
The App stores conversation history and product preferences in application data on your device. Model containers remain in storage locations you select. Folder permissions and saved download destinations are maintained through the operating system’s storage-authority mechanisms.
The App may contact Hugging Face to discover Minirun publications, resolve repository metadata, and download model files. A supported local conversation is executed on the device and is not sent to minirun.dev for inference.
The Mac App keeps itself up to date. To do so it periodically requests an update feed from downloads.minirun.dev and sends what that check requires: the installed application version and the operating-system version. It does not send an account identifier, a device identifier, your prompts, your conversations, or the names of your models. Automatic update checking can be turned off in the App’s settings.
4. Purposes and legal bases
We process technical Website requests to provide the page you request, maintain availability, diagnose failures, secure the Website, and prevent abuse. Where applicable law requires a legal basis, this processing is based on providing the requested service and our legitimate interests in operating a secure, reliable Website.
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, use it for targeted advertising, build cross-site advertising profiles, or make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects from Website request data.
5. Cookies and local storage
Minirun does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies on the Website. The delivery or security provider may use strictly necessary cookies or comparable mechanisms to protect traffic, preserve service integrity, or apply abuse controls.
If optional analytics, accounts, forms, or personalization are introduced, this Policy and any required consent controls will be updated before those features are used.
6. Service providers and disclosures
Cloudflare provides Website delivery, caching, networking, and security services and may process technical request data on our behalf or under its own applicable terms. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or in connection with a lawful reorganization of the project.
Following a link or starting a model transfer can send a request to a third party such as GitHub, Hugging Face, or Apple. Minirun does not control that party’s collection or retention practices.
7. International processing and retention
Website infrastructure may process information in countries other than your own. Applicable provider safeguards and legal transfer mechanisms govern that processing.
Technical request data is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for delivery, security, abuse prevention, diagnostics, and legal obligations. App data stored solely on your device remains there until you remove it, remove the App, or use an available product control to delete it.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection concerning personal data, and to complain to a competent data-protection authority. These rights may be subject to statutory exceptions and identity verification.
- You can avoid third-party model requests by not opening remote model links or starting downloads.
- You can remove a registered storage location in the App without deleting the files in that folder.
- You can remove local conversations and App data using the available product or operating-system controls.
9. Security and children
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the Website’s current data boundary. No internet transmission, device, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
The Website is a general technical resource and is not directed to children under the minimum age required to consent to data processing in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly create profiles of children.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may revise this Policy when the Website, App, providers, or legal requirements change. The “Last revised” date identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented through an appropriate Website or product notice when required.
11. Contact
Privacy questions and rights requests may be sent to contact@minirun.dev, or raised through the Contact page. Do not post personal information in a public issue. General project information is available from the Minirun Website.
